Denim Day – April 26, 2024

Join Discovery Prep as we take a stand against sexual violence with a powerful statement: wear denim 👖. Denim Day is not just about fashion — it’s a pledge of support to survivors and a declaration against the misconceptions surrounding sexual assault.

*Denim Day is internationally recognized on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. However, in observance of Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, there will be no school on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. As such, Discovery Prep will be honoring Denim Day on Friday, April 26th.

What is Denim Day?

Denim Day was established in 1999 after the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction, in which an 18-year-old student was raped by her 45year-old driving instructor. They ruled that because the victims’ jeans were tight, there must have been consent and that she was not raped.

👖 Denim Day Assemblies👖

DP’s Warriors for Justice invites you to attend the Denim Day Assemblies on Friday, April 26, 2024.

  • 1st Period: 9th and 12th Graders
  • 2nd Period: 10th and 11th Graders

By wearing denim, we stand united in our commitment to raise awareness and dispel harmful myths. Your jeans have the power to send a message that we are all responsible for creating a culture of respect and safety. Come clad in denim and be part of the change!
